Maria Genero is an American award-winning journalist who works at WGRZ as the weather anchor in Buffalo, New York. She previously worked at WYRK as the station’s weekend weather caster back in 1984.
In addition, she worked as the chief weather fill-in anchor for Mark McEwen at CBS This Morning. According to reports, Genero relocated to Miami, Florida and joined WCIX where she worked as the evening 6 and 11 p.m meteorologist.
One of Maria’s memorable moments at the station was when President Nixon visited New York City to promote his new book and stood by her side as she reported on the national weather.
Following her time as a weekend meteorologist and host at KABC-TV in Los Angeles in 1996, Maria went on to host the California lifestyle show Eye on L.A. Maria then joined Fox News in New York City in 1998, where she was the host of Good Day New York, a live morning program that aired from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.
Maria graduated from the University of Mississippi, where she obtained her certificates in Broadcast Meteorology. In 1989, Maria was given documents by the National Weather Association.
