Paula Reid is an American award-winning journalist who has been working for CNN as the chief legal affairs correspondent since March 2021.
She previously worked at CBS News as the CBS News White House Correspondent where she made regular appearances on CBS Evening News, Face the Nation, and CBS This Morning. Paula was also a fill-in anchor on CBSN.
She reported on the 2016 Hillary Clinton email controversy as well as the Special Counsel’s probe against Robert Mueller. She gained notoriety for pressuring President Trump on his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She joined CBS Evening News as a production secretary later that year in June 2010 and worked there for a year. Reid was a digital journalist stationed in New York from 2011 to 2014. Paula relocated to Washington D.C. to cover the Justice Department as a reporter for CBS News back in 2014.
In March 2021, Paula announced that she was leaving CBS to become a senior legal affairs correspondent for CNN. She received a promotion to chief legal affairs correspondent on October 16, 2023.
Reid attended the College of William & Mary where she earned her bachelor’s degree with a dual degree in psychology and English in 2005. She then proceeded to the Villanova University School of Law where she graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2008.
