Scott Smith Biography
Scott Smith is an American journalist who is currently serving as the sports director for FOX 13 in Tampa, Florida. He joined the station’s sports team in February 2016 replacing Chip Carter. Before this, he worked at FOX 5 in Washington DC as a Sports Director and 6 PM News anchor for 3 years.
Prior to that, he worked at KPHO-TB in Phoenix, Arizona as a Sports Anchor and reporter. In addition, Scott also worked at KNTV in San Francisco Bay Area. Born in Florida, the United States, he attended and graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication: Electronic Media.
During his time at the University, he played Student-Athlete (Football) for the Bisons. As a professional sports journalist, Smith has had the privilege of covering many major sporting events like the Super Bowl, BCS Champion Game, PGA Championship, and NCAA Tournament, among other major events.
