Saira Anwer is an American Award-winning journalist who has been working at Local 10 News team since July 2018.

In addition, Saira is a two-time Emmy-nominated reporter who has earned Emmy nominations for storm coverage of Janesville, Wisconsin and a feature on teachers at a unique school within a children’s hospital.

According to reports, she moved from her job as a reporter and anchor in Madison, Wisconsin to South Florida. Besides being a two-time Emmy-nominated reporter, she has also received an award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for excellence in live reporting.

She started her journalism career as a prime-time anchor and reporter in Minot, North Dakota. During her time there, she reported on major oil spills and political issues on North Dakota’s Native American reservations. Additionally, she created and hosted a weekly medical segment.

When discussing her educational background, Saira attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish.

Following her graduation, she joined the Teach For America corps and spent two years teaching language arts and reading to at-risk eighth graders in Dallas. Saira is a proud member of Delta Zeta sorority.
