Kirsteen Anne “Kirsty” Wark is a popular Scottish television presenter best known for her long career at the BBC.
She began her journalism career as a producer at Radio Scotland before moving to television, presenting The Late Show and Newsnight, as well as hosting her interview programme and launching a production company. Wark’s activities included reporting on the Lockerbie bombings, hosting a book quiz, and encouraging open discussion of menopause. In The Great British Bake Off, she qualified as a Star Baker.
According to reports, she joined the news channel in 1976 as a graduate researcher for BBC Radio Scotland, before promotion a year later to producer of Good Morning Scotland and current affairs programmes.
Additionally, Wark moved into presenting, Seven Days, fronting Reporting Scotland, Left, Right and Center, and Scottish Question Coverage for BBC Scotland. She was among the first reporters to cover the Lockerble disaster in 1999.
In 2011, she took part in a series of Celebrity MasterChef where she reached the final and narrowly lost out to Phil Vickery. Moreover, she also made appearances in a cameo role as herself in the revival of the BBC’s Fabulous on 1 January 2012.
Kirsty participated in a special episode of The Great British Bake Off in January 2013 and won the Star Baker title.[8] She had a brief cameo in two BBC Two episodes of The Politician’s Husband later that year.
