Norah O’Donnell Biography
Norah O’Donnell is an American journalist currently serving as the anchor of the CBS Evening News. She is also a correspondent for 60 Minutes and the current host of Person to Person.
Nora has worked with several mainstream media outlets throughout her career and has decades of experience.
She is a former co-anchor of CBS This Morning, Chief White House Correspondent for CBS News, and a subtitle host for CBS’s Sunday Morning show Face the Nation. Born in Washington, Norah has been an ambitious girl from a young age.
She began her career in broadcasting while still in elementary school. At that time, Norah gave videotaped English lessons for the Korean Educational Institute. Later on, her family moved to San Antonio, where she attended Douglas MacArthur High School graduating in 1991.
She then attended Georgetown University graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and a Master’s in liberal studies in 2003. At first, she worked as a staff writer for Roll Call.
While there, she took over Congress, and after this, she spent 12 years of her career at the NBC networks. Besides being a contributing anchor for MSNBC Live and anchor on Weekend Today, Norah was also a commentator for the Today Show and Chief Washington Correspondent for MSNBC.
Since joining CBS, she has served as an anchor in several shows. After a year of broadcasting CBS This Morning, her last broadcast was on May 16, 2019. On April 8, 2022, she extended her contract with CBS News to remain the anchor of CBS Evening News. She is set to anchor the 2024 elections and onwards.
