Julie Durda Biography
Julie Durda is an American Meteorologist currently serving as an anchor and reporter at WPLG Local 10 News. She joined the station in October 2012. She anchors the station’s weekend morning weather news. Prior to joining her current station, she worked as a weather reporter at WSVN CHANNEL 7 in Miami, Florida.
Talking about her education, she attended and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in broadcast meteorology. Durda also holds the American Meteorology Society seal of approval for television weather casting. Furthermore, she has been a member of the National Weather Association since 2006.
After she completed her studies, she began her broadcasting career as a traffic, feature, and weather reporter in 2003 for KXTV. She quickly became interested in focusing on meteorology and the impact weather has throughout the United States of America. After a few years of service there, she move to KPHO, where she worked as a weather and traffic anchor.
At KPHO, Juie covered the Pacific hurricane season, including monsoons and haboobs. After here, she moved to a local Mami station where she became the No. 1, morning meteorologist. As of 2023, she serves as a weekend morning weather anchor at WPLG Local 10 News.
Besides her work, she is very involved in the community and was even voted “Best Meteorologist in South Florida” in 2011. She supports many charitable causes including the Boys and Girls Club, Breast Cancer Awareness, and even Joe DiMaggio Children’s hospital.
