Jim Rosenfield is an American news anchor who presently works for WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is owned by NBC. He also primarily co-anchored WRC-Saturday TV’s evening newscasts in Washington, D.C.

He may be seen on WCBS-TV newscasts at noon, 5, 6, and 11 p.m. He left the station on May 22, 2008, following the 6 p.m. newscast.

Rosenfield started his career in 1981 after graduating from Duke University. He began his career with WTVD-TV in Durham, North Carolina, as a general assignment reporter. Jim subsequently moved to Houston’s KTRK-TV, where he worked as a reporter and later as an anchor.

He subsequently moved to Chicago and worked as a reporter and weekend anchor for WLSTV. He moved to New York in 1998 and started working for WCBS-TV, where he co-anchored the noon news with Cindy Hsu and the 5 p.m. show with Lisa Cooley.

Jim switched to a rival after a contract dispute with WCBS. He co-anchored the 5 p.m. newscast on WNBC-TV. (“Live”) broadcast Sue Simmons (“at Five”) He left WNBC in 2005 and returned to WCBS in June of that year to replace Ernie Anastos, who had gone to WNYW-TV for a five-year, $10 million contract.

He had previously worked at WNBC and was one of Dianne Doctor’s new hires. As a result of this transfer, Rosenfield was able to advance to the position of lead male anchor at a local New York station, something he would not have been able to achieve if he had stayed at WNBC.

From June 2005 until April 2006, Rosenfield co-anchored CBS 2 News at 5 and CBS 2 News at 11 with Roz Abrams. In April 2006, he departed the 5 p.m. show to join Dana Tyler at 6 p.m., while maintaining the 11 p.m. show. Roz’s working hours were now noon and 5 p.m.

In June 2007, new station administrators moved him and Dana Tyler to the WCBS noon and 6 p.m. newscasts. In May 2008, the same producers that demoted the seasonal news reporter rehired him as the noon and 6 p.m. newscaster. Rosenfield will depart the station on May 22nd after the 6 p.m. newscast, with no employment offers. CBS has decided to let him go as part of a massive layoff.
