Damaris Diaz is an Award- winning journalist who presently works at WXTV as a local affiliate of Univision based in New York. Besides being an achor, she is also a correspondent at a national morning show at Univisons Despierta America.
She began her journalism career as a producer and entertainment reporter at WXTV in New York before she transitioned to a correspondent in 2011. Apart for special recognition, Diaz has also won two Emmy nominations.
She has had the privilege of interviewing a number of well-known people throughout her time there, including Marc Anthony, Celia Cruz, Oscar De La Hoya, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, and Adam Sandler.
Damaris became associated with Univison following her victory in a competition and subsequent title as Miss República Deportiva. In the interview, she said that she learned about the tournament via her friend and chose to enter since it would help her achieve her goals.
