Kirby Smart born Kirby Paul Smart is an American football coach and former player. Currently, Smart is the head football coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, his alma mater.

He guided the Bulldogs to consecutive National Championship wins in 2021 and 2022 while serving as head coach.

When discussing his coaching career, he worked as an administrative assistant at University of Georgia since 1999.

After relocating, Smart worked as the defensive backs coach at Valdosta State for one season before being elevated to the position of defensive coordinator for the 2001 campaign.

Moreover, Kirby worked as graduate assistant under Bobby Bowden at Florida State while pursuing a master’s degree form 2002 to 2003.

Kirby graduated from a local high school. He then proceeded to the State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance in 1999.
