John Lee Bottom popularly known as John Phoenix was an American missionary and a member of the ” The Children of God”. Lee was born to parents Robert Merrill Bottom (1917-1993) and Beulah Ernstine Ingram (1918-1980) in Stanislaus County, California. John is the father to River Phoenix and Joaquin Phoenix.
