Jenise Fernandez Biography
Jenise Fernandez is an American Journalist currently working as an Anchor and Reporter at WPLG Local 10 News since November 2014. After four years in the Deep South, Janise is thrilled to be back home reporting for the station she grew up watching. Prior to joining WPLG, she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WEAR in Pensacola.
Jenise spent two years there covering everything from breaking news to suture stories. In addition, she was the first reporter to bring live reports during historic flooding in April 2014. Just to add, she covered the Escambia Country jail explosion, the funeral of Col. Bud Day, and F-35 training kicking off in Eglin Air Force Base.
Born and raised in Miami, she attended and graduated from Florida International University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a minor in psychology. Janise is also a proud member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and is a former Miss Miami.
When off her duties she enjoys spending time with her big Cuban family. Fernandez can be sometimes seen cheering on her favorite teams, the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat. In addition, she enjoys reading, trying out new restaurants, Checking out new movies, traveling, and writing.
