  • A passport renewal application by mail may be possible for you.
  • According to the US government , one is advised to  make an appointment at a Regional Passport Agency, call 1-877-487-2778; TDD/TTY: 1-888-874-7793 Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 10 PM ET. The appointment line is closed on weekends and federal holidays.
  • To renew your passport, bring proof of urgent travel, an expedited fee, and the things required below to your appointment.

Expired Passport Renewal Process ( Requirements )

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Stockholm with accreditation to Denmark, Finland, Iceland & Norway. The following are Requirements/ Checklist for Replacement of an Existing Passport ;

  • Submit online application on www.ecitizen.go.ke;
  • Ecitizen pre-filled passport application Form and two payment receipts.
  • Original and a copy of Kenyan birth certificate.
  • Original Kenya National ID card and a copy of Kenyan ID.
  • Original passport and a copy (Bio Data Page) of passport being renewed/replaced
  • A copy of Certificate of Registration if Kenyan by registration
  • Additional documentary proof of Kenya citizenship may be required if necessary.
  • For those requesting change of name, attach copy of marriage certificate for married women or Deed Poll and a Kenya Gazette Notice.
  • For Dual Citizens, Proof of having either regained Kenya Citizenship and or Declared Dual Citizenship.
  • Two recent passport size photographs on a white background (2 by 2 inches). The photo should be taken without spectacles, earings and both ears should be visible hence no hair on the forehead.

Expired Passport Lost Renewal  ( In Kenya )

According to the ministry of the Interior and Coordination of national government, the The following must be present for the renewal of a lost passport in Kenya.

  1. A duly filled application Form 19 and 2 payment invoices
  2. Original ID and a copy for Adults
  3. Personal Statement explaining circumstances for the damage
  4. Sworn Affidavit to support (iii) above
  5. Police Abstract for loss of passport
  6. Copy of the lost passport bio data page if available
  7. Payment of the prescribed fee of Ksh.12,050.00

Expired Passport Renewal Post Office

You may simply renew your passport at one of your local locations.

The bad news is that a passport cannot be renewed at a passport acceptance office, which includes the post office. The good news is that there is a lot simpler solution available to you. A passport acceptance agency, such as the post office, is normally not required to renew a passport.

Expired Passport Renewal Time and Child ( in the US )

Passports granted to Americans aged 16 and above can be renewed by mail for a period of 15 years from the date of issuance or 5 years from the date of expiration. Passports that have been extensively damaged or issued to minors under the age of 15 cannot be renewed by mail.
