William Baier is an American news anchor who currently serves as FOX News Channel’s (FNC) anchor and executive editor of Special Report with Bret Baier (weeknights at 6-7 PM/ET) and chief political anchor of the network.

Before he joined fox news, Bret worked as the network’s Chief White House Correspondent and Pentagon correspondent. William started his television career with a local station in Rockford, Illinois, before joining WRAL-TV, then CBS affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Back in 1998, Bret sent an audition tape to Fox News and was hired as the network’s Atlanta bureau chief and later drove from Georgia to Arlington, Virginia on September 11, 2001, to cover the attack on the Pentagon.
