Wode Maya born ( Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon ) is a Ghanaian YouTube personality, vlogger, influencer, aeronautical engineer and digital media.
‘Wode Maya’ means ‘My Mother’ in Chinese. Because of the color of his skin, there were empty seats next to him on a bus in 2017, and he recorded the scene with his phone. The video quickly gained popularity. Marwa was a student he started vlogging in China about his experiences and later quit his job as Aeronautical engineer.
The China phrase wǒ de mā ya (我的妈呀), which roughly translates to “Oh my god!” in English, is the source of his nickname Wode Maya. He launched his own real estate business in December 2021, naming it “CHARLIEMAG Estate,” and stated that it will be based in East Legon.
In 2023, Maya was one of six prominent YouTubers from around the world invited to cover the annual conference of the World Economic Forum and was also invited to cover the 2023 Munich Security Conference.
