Layron Livingston Career

HeĀ  reported and anchored for WHIO-TV, Dayton’s No. 1 news station, before joining the Local 10 News team in January 2016. In 2014, I was nominated for an Emmy for my reporting on the heroin and prescription drug crisis in southwest Ohio.

Prior to relocating to Ohio, I worked for KLTV in Tyler, Texas, where I anchored, reported, produced, and shot news.

He grew up in Terrell, Texas (go Tigers!) approximately 30 minutes east of Dallas (go Mavericks!) and received an honors degree in journalism with a government specialization from the University of Texas in Austin (hook ’em Horns!)

He was truly bitten by the television bug in Austin, first on university, where he reported for the student-led, student-run television station, and later as a production assistant at the local NBC affiliate. Later, he worked as a writer and researcher for WRC-consumer TV’s section in Washington, D.C.

During my first six months at Local 10, he went live on the air, interviewed presidential candidates, and assisted Local 10 in bringing you team coverage of the horrible Pulse nightclub tragedy in Orlando. The news isn’t always “good news,” but he believe that when it’s delivered in a captivating, demonstrative, informed, courteous, and accurate manner, it can always have a positive impact.

Expect to see (or hear) me singing at the top of my lungs at the grocery store, while driving around town, or when trying on (not buying) a pair of shoes at the Aventura Mall. And these beaches are literally there in front of you! I mean, the ocean is literally right there! I can’t seem to get enough of it!

On Local 10’s No. 1 morning newscasts, you can usually see my reports starting at 4:30 a.m., 9 a.m., and noon. I’m excited to keep telling South Florida’s tales, so please email me news tips and article ideas.
