How to Deactivate Facebook Account

First before anything, I just want to let you know that you can deactivate or reactivate your account whenever you want. When you deactivate your account, other Facebook users won’t be able to see your timeline or search for you. Unfortunately, this might result in losses in case you have a business page since people can’t access your profile or page. Additionally, some information may remain visible to others (e.g. messages you sent).

1. Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
2. Select Settings and privacy, then click Settings.
3. Click Accounts Centre in the top left of your screen.
4. Click Personal details, under Account settings.
5. Click Account ownership and control.
6. Click Deactivation or deletion.
7. Choose the account or profile that you want to deactivate.
8. Select Deactivate account.
9. Click Continue then follow the instructions to confirm.

How to Deactivate Facebook Account Through settings if you don’t have access to the new Pages experience

• Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.

• Click Privacy, then click Your Facebook information.
• Click Deactivation and deletion.

What happens when your Facebook account is deactivated?
